June 6 Meeting Notes
Well, the sounds of
marching bands have long faded, Sandy Boulevard is
once again slick with rain and traffic is flowing in
Hollywood. Good job Mr. President in your second
parade this week!
It has been a busy
day for TT too. Thought I would just give you all my
update.
The Boosters are
generously paying for 200 yellow construction hard
hats that say THIRD THURSDAY
www.hollywoodboosters.com. They have been
ordered and we are supposed to have them by 6/20
(that is the earliest I could get them). The other
misc. construction stuff I ordered like hard hats
for kids and cones, etc should be here in time for
me to bring to next week's meeting.
The application for
the noise permit is in the mail, and barring any
unforeseen problems, we should have it in time for
this month's TT as well. Start thinking about patios
and front walks as good venues for live music, as
long as they don't compete with each other. It is
such a good way to get attention to our event.
Music is finally
coming along this month and I have booked everyone
who wanted someone except Rose City Vision. We still
have two weeks, so I am confident it will be fine.
Any one who knows someone, this business is small
and good for a solo instrumentalist. They also have
a little patio they might use as well.
Jeff and I will be
getting together very soon to take a look at the
grant and see exactly where we are. That way we know
what we have to work with for the rest of the year.
Keep in mind the in kind donation is largely our
time. Please try to remember to keep track of the
time you spend working on TT as we will have to
report it at the end of the grant period.
Kerry, I think the
orange sign idea is great! Some orange poster board
and stencils would do the trick.
Maybe next month's
theme should be something more generic, like fun &
games or pool party, so nothing is contingent on
Hollywood happenings for the moment.
You guys are great!
Thanks for making things happen.
